If watchmaking has a founding father, it is Abraham-Louis Breguet. The brand that bears his name is a living museum of his inventions, each modern timepiece infused with the codes he established in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Breguet invented the tourbillon (1801), the pare-chute shock protection system, the gong spring for repeaters, and the first wristwatch (for the Queen of Naples in 1810). Wearing a Breguet is wearing a direct link to the origins of haute horlogerie.
